Closing Time!!

It''s DONE!!!

Our closing is over, funding is final & the house is ours!

I'm so excited & so relieved that it's done.

I have to say, our realtor was amazing!

(If you're in the DFW area, you can find Kamie HERE
She's awesome to work with & we highly recommend her!)

She has been so helpful & honest and just delightful to work with.

(The seller's agent, on the other hand....
Well, maybe let's not even get started on that subject.)

Kamie was so helpful to us through this whole process that I just had to make her a Thank You card.

(The wobbly-looking line there on the left is an opening for a gift-card pocket)
Supplies: Card Base: DCWV, PP: Making Memories, Cardstock, DCWV, Ric Rac: Wrights,
Cricut Cartridges: Paper Doll Dress Up, Old West, Other: Wiggle Eye

I have to give Steve credit for the idea.
He wanted to give Kamie a Thank You that was in keeping with her sense of humor & ours, and this seemed to be just the thing.

We started working with Kamie back before Christmas & included her & her family on our Christmas list.
Her little girl Berclee liked our Christmas card (seen here ) so much that she claimed it for her very own & wouldn't give it back to Mom.
So we decided that Berclee needed a card of her own this time.

Supplies: Card Base: DCWV, Cardstock: Scraps-unknown, PP-DCWV, Cricut Cartridges: Simply Charmed, Winter Woodland, Other: Stickles

It's always fun to make projects for people that have been so sweet to you!

Hope you have a very happy Wednesday.
Off to do some packing!

Project Life 2011-Week 3 POTD

Are you all frozen??

According to all of my Facebook Friends it is around 20* BELOW 0 in my hometown.

Ack!

All I can say is:

I'm sorry- that sucks!

Be careful & stay warm.

And
This is why I live in Texas now!

Here are this week's POTD
(I love sharing these with you- totally keeps me accountable to keep taking them!)

 1/16

Steve made me his fabulous Sausage & Potato soup for dinner- one of my favorites!
Yummy!
 1/17
I have a dream...

of living into my 80's (or more!) like my Gram.

Which is why I put these on & went walking, even though I really didn't feel like it.

 1/18
I received an email from Uncle Johann about Aunt Mariette's surgery & prognosis.
I made her this card so that she will know that her family in the US cares about her and is thinking happy thoughts for her quick recovery.

 1/19
I spent an hour or so today taking pictures of the house so that we will always remember what the first home we shared looked like.
 1/20
Brrrrr...
Time for some hot tea.

 1/21
I made some fresh, homemade bread today.
Yummy yummy yummy

1/22
A visit to Lowe's to pick up blinds, light bulbs & a shower curtain rod after our final walk-through of the new house!  We're in the home stretch!!

We close tomorrow!  Whoohooo!

We'll let you know how it goes next week!

Stay tuned for crafty-ness tomorrow!

Feel Better

We're getting closer.

One week from today, we will finally have our keys.

I'm sooooo excited!

I'm planning to spend the rest of today taking photos of this house before we take it all apart.

But, first things first!

I found out a couple of days ago that my sweet Aunt Mariette in Holland is sick.

And on her birthday, no less!

No good at all!

So I had to make her something pretty to cheer her up.

I wish the photos showed these flowers better.
All 3 were cream colored to begin with.
I inked & then Stickled the brown one.
The green ones are  all kinds of shimmery in person.
I used some of my home-made Perfect Pearl mist on them & LOVE the way they came out!

Supplies: PP Heidi Grace, DCWV, Cardstock: DCWV, Border Punch: Fiskars Threading Water,Flowers: Prima,
Stickles: Cinnamon, Pearl Brad: Little Yellow Bicycle, Sentiment Stamp: Stampendous

This was a fun card to put together.
I was able to use up a bunch of scraps- which is always a good thing.
This little chunk of Heidi Grace paper has been sitting in the green/blue scrap box forever, just waiting for the right project to come along.
And I had just enough of it left to jazz up the inside a little bit.
Fun!

I'm glad that it finally has a good home to go to.

Hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday.

Don't forget to keep taking your daily photos!

Project Life 2011-Week 2 POTD

Phew...

What a crazy, busy week it has been.

But we're 1 week closer to having our house!

I can't wait!!!!

And I've gotten lots of super-fun DT  & blog-hop projects finished.

I can't wait for you to see them!

But not today-- today is POTD day.

Here are this week's photos:

 1/8
IHOP for breakfast.
SOOO not on the diet, but oh well.
IHOP pancakes are worth a few more sit-ups.

 1/9
Snowy day in Dallas.
Not something that happens very often,
so I just had to have a picture of the new house, all covered in snow.

 1/10
This was not quite the picture I had planned.
I've been doing most of the cooking around our house for the last several months,
but once in a while, I can talk Steve into making me something special.
Today, he made his famous meatloaf for dinner.
As this is one of my favorite meals, I had planned on taking a picture of it as my POTD.
But when the time came to eat, I was so hungry & it smelled soooooooo good,
that I forgot.
Oh, well.
The empty plate probably gets the point across better anyway.
:-)

 1/11
 19*F outside.
Brrrrrrr.
Gotta start my day with something warm....

 1/12
Still super-cold outside (for Texas anyway)
Even Claire-Cat needs a blankie to keep warm.

 1/13
 Clean My Desk Day.
It certainly needs it.
Maybe I need to have this day more often...

 1/14
Stamp, Scrap Art Tour Make & Take Night.
Something I do with The Posse every year.
We spend a couple of hours making pretty stuff & driving Ted crazy,
then head to one of the local restaurants to eat junk food, drink margaritas & traumatize  young waiters with totally inappropriate conversation.
One of my favorite events of the year!

1/15
Stamp Scrap Art Tour.
An entire day of demos & shopping for stamp & scrap supplies.
What could be better?

Like I said, it was a crazy busy week, but a good one.
I'm still loving taking photos every day.
And I love coming here on Mondays to share them with you.

I've got some great projects to show you this week.

Stay tuned!!

Project Life 2011-Week 1 POTD

One week down!

How did you do?

So far, I'm LOVING having an excuse to take pictures every day.

Steve, while handsome & photogenic, hates having his picture taken & generally gives me  a pretty hard time about it.
(Picture in your mind:  photo after photo of his middle finger)

Since I've started this project, he's been much more tolerant- even going so far as to make suggestions for that day's photo.

That makes Becky Higgins my bestest new friend!

Here are this week's photos:

 1/1/11
Spent the day laying on the couch watching LOST & recovering from the wonderful time we had the night before!

 1/2/11
We took Steve's parents to see the new house that we're buying.
1/3/11
I was invited to join the SrapFit Design Team for Feb-July.
I'm VERY excited about this.
Joining a design team was one of my Before-I-Turn-35 goals.
I'll be posting photos of my projects & links to the blog when they go up!

1/4/11
Baker Pillow Sandwich
This is what I wake up to each morning.
Steve leaves very early, so he makes sure that my Guard Dog is on hand to protect me until I get up.
(Are you starting to see why I love him so much?)

 1/5/11
I spent the day linking all of my Cricut cartridges to  new Gypsy!

1/6/11
I filled out the application & all of the other paperwork to re-open my daycare after the move!

1/7/11
A day spent in my craft room, working on projects for the design team.
Can you see why I need a bigger room?

Here they are in the album.
I love how easy this has been!
1 week and I'm already further ahead than I was!

So that's it!

One week done.
I'll be posting my POTDs each Monday.
I'd love to see links to yours!

Enjoy your projects!

DIY Project Life March, April, May

The New Year is here!

Have you started your Project Life?

I have and I'm LOVING it!

I just wanted to take a quick minute to show you my next 3 months worth of journaling & labeling cards.

March:

(If you missed my last post  I am also participating in Ali Edwards' One Little Word Project this year.  "Can" is my word for the year, so I've made sure to include it when making my journaling cards)

When I reached March, I decided that it was really time to dig out all of those seasonal stickers & rub-ons that have been gathering dust in my craft room.

I used them to accent the smaller (3"x4") journaling cards.

I love the way they came out!!

I made sure that I had cards ready to go for all the major holidays: St. Patrick's Day (one of my Favorite holidays!!), the 1st Day of Spring, and the Start of Daylight Savings Time.

And, of course, I had to have a few cards that represent our fur-babies.

April:

While working on April's 3x4" cards, I remembered all of those cute seasonal $1 stamps...

April's holidays: April Fool's Day, National Library Week (starts 4/10), Earth Day, Arbor Day and Easter.
May:

All of the words & phrases I've used have been but using Designer's Calendar Cricut Cartridge & plain old white cardstock.
Depending on the color of the background paper, I have spritzed either the background or the phrase with some of my home-made Glimmer Mist to make sure that they'll show up.
Gotta LOVE homemade Glimmer Mist!

May's Holidays:  Cinco de Mayo, Mother's Day, Memorial Day and several birthdays!

That's all for today.

I hope you are having as much fun with you Project Life as I am with mine!!

I would love to see yours if you'd like to leave me a link!!
