Spooky!

Ok, I get it.

I KNOW that's it's August.

I KNOW that we're all trudging around in shorts & tank tops.

I KNOW that it's still over 100 degrees most days.

I still want to hang up the Halloween decorations.

Today!

I mean, have you been shopping lately?
Have you seen some of the super-cute sparkly spooky Halloween-y things that we could buy & hang here, and here and here? And we could put this cute ghost over there? And hang the spiders from here? And.....

Fine.

FINE!

I'll wait until the temperature goes down to 90 or less.

I'll make Halloween cards while I wait.
Supplies:  Card Base: Joann Craft Essentials, PP: Heidi Grace, Cardstock: Coredinations, Cricut Cartridge: A Child's Year, Other: Stickles, Prima Flowers

But I won't be happy until there are vampires & skeletons in the front yard.

Oh, Baby!

I've been on a card-making binge lately.

Many of them, I'm making while doing my demonstrator job at one of the local craft stores, so they are very Cricut-y & simple.

I'm using up some Baby-themed paper that I got from the Target dollar spot.

And I love love LOVE that this give me an opportunity to use my cartridges more.
I've decided that demos are the perfect time to get more use out of some of the cartridges that I bought for a specific purpose (or just because the were super-cheap!) and haven't used since.  I'm having more fun exploring them than I can tell you.  I've found some super-cute images that I had no idea were in my library.

For the top 2 cards, I used New Arrival.

For the next 2, I used Beyond Birthdays.

And I know I'll be using them more soon.

Gotta love demos!!

Times Like This

Sometimes....

Well, sometimes life just sucks.
Sometimes bad things happen to good people.
Sometimes the good guy doesn't win.

And there's nothing we can do about it.
That's just the way the world works.

But sometimes....

Sometimes we can learn things from the sucky parts of life.

Supplies:  PP & Cardstock: DCWV, Rub-Ons: Colorbok, Motorcycle Stickers: Sandylion, Clock: Making Memories

Sometimes we get a chance to learn that "Don't know what you've got till it's gone" lesson before it's really gone.

And all we can do is remember  and be grateful.

Exceeds Expectations

That would be ME of course.

.........

(I can hear you laughing ya know!)
(And I Exceed Expectations just by getting out of bed in the morning!)

Ok, so really it's just a super-cute card that I put together.   I decided that I wanted to try for a spot on a Design Team  (That's one of those Bucket List things for me) and it's Back to School time here in Texas-- so this is what I came up with:

Supplies;  Card Base: DCWV, Cardstock: Bazzill, Paper Studio, Stamps: See-Ds, Cricut Cartridge: My World

And now comes the point where I beg for some help!

With this particular DT Call, the designers will be chosen based on votes-- your votes!

You can click HERE  to see all the entries -- click on the one you want to vote for

(You will be voting for mine of course!  Right?  Maybe?)

then click on the "like" button.  The 5 projects that receive the most "Like" votes get the spots.

Thank you all ahead of time for your help.  I'm really excited to see what the results are!

Days of Our Drama

Hello Friends!!  How have you been?  I've missed you this week!

This week has been crazy here in TX.  If you've been watching the weather reports, you know that it has OVER 100 degrees here all week long.  I think even my toenails are sweating now.

Maybe it's due to the heat, but everyone in my house has been a bit on edge this week.

Pretty Pink Camera and Laptop are normally a cute, happy couple.

Not so this week.

No one is really sure exactly what happened.  (He has lots to say, but none of it makes any sense and She's not talking at all.)

All we know is that a few days ago, she refused to hook up with him.  We tried & tried to get them together, but she flatly refused the connection.  She wouldn't even allow him to see the pictures.

After 3 days of this, He & I had a long talk.  Everyone took some time off to recharge.  And thankfully, this morning, a normal relationship was re-established.

I'm not really sure what he did to tick her off so badly, and I doubt I ever will.  All I can do is hope that he doesn't do it again.

While I've been playing Dr. Phil to the semi-happy couple, little to no scrapping has been done.

Instead, I've been dealing with this.
2800 so far and more on the way.

We hope.
As long as Camera & Laptop can keep talking.

Sing Loud

My parents are coming to visit in a couple of weeks.

They are going to drive from California to Arizona to visit my brother & celebrate my nephew's second birthday, then drive here to TX for a few days.

I'm not sure if their upcoming visit is the catalyst or what, but I find myself scrapping pictures of them the last few days.

Today's layout is from the first time Mom came to visit, just a couple of weeks after I bought my house.

Supplies: PP & Accents: Colorbok, Stamp: Rusty Pickle, Ink: K & Co.

This was one of those good "using things up" layouts.  (That's the theme for the summer, remember.) All of the paper & accents are from a  Colorbok kit that I bought forever ago.  You know, one of those "It's too cute.  I have to have it, but have no earthly idea what I'm going to do with it" kits.  I love it when I'm finally able to find a use for one of those.

Did I use it all?  Not even close.
There's probably enough pieces left to do 5 more layouts.
But I'll find a use for it.

Eventually.

The Cherry On My Day

I won an award!  I actually won an award!  I'm sooo excited!

Thank you so much to Christina  for sharing this with me!  It was so very sweet of you!

The rules for accepting this award are that I need to:
1. you must thank the person who passed it on to you,
2. copy award to your blog.
3. list three (3) things you love about yourself,
4. post a picture that you love on your blog, and
5. pass award on to five (5) others

Ok- so to answer these questions:
3 things I love about myself:
I'm very creative
I can almost always see the bright side of things
I make the best fried rice in town!

A picture that I love:
After almost 40 years, 2 kids, 2 motorcycle accidents, a cross-country move
and a grandbaby, they still do this.
If that's not a reason to be hopeful for the future, I don't know what is.

Hope you all have a happy, smiley, cherry-on-top kinda day!

1000 Kisses

I was sorting and organizing a big stack of photos last week when I found them.
They were there in the pile with the slightly blurry or accidentally printed twice photos.

They made me remember the early days.
They made me smile.

Best of all there was a whole stack of them and they were perfect.

Supplies: Paper: DCWV Old World Stack, Flowers: Prima, Bling: K& Co, Swirly Stamps: Autumn Leaves, Brads: Making Memories, Stickles

 A little sappy?  Sure

A little dramatic? That too.
Proof of happiness, in black & white?  Absolutely!
