The Big Project

Here's the question of the day:

What do you give one of your oldest and dearest friends when she not only gets married , but asks you to be a bridesmaid?

Answer:

 

A king-size, hand made quilt that very nearly gets you arrested at the airport on the way to the wedding because it was absolutely necessary to threaten the lives of the check-in agent, the TSA agent, the baggage handlers, the pilot, the co-pilots, the flight attendants, the Air Marshall  and anyone else who might ever even consider losing, damaging, breathing on or thinking about smudging the 15 lbs. of fabric that you just invested nearly a year of your life hand quilting.

Easy right??

Ok, so fast-forward 3 years and same wonderful friend is about to have her first child and sadly, you live several states away and can't make it to the shower.  What do you send her as a baby gift?

Well, the quilt thing is soooo 2007.  

New Baby must have an album!

First, let me apologize for the quality of some of the photos.  I musta been high on Diamond Glaze or somethin' when I took  'em.  Sadly, the insane crooked-ness of  them did not allow me to crop out much of the grubby-craft-table-as-backdrop, nor did it allow for most of the Stickle-y goodness to show. I'll work on that for next time.  

One last thing before I hit the hay for tonight.

Hopefully, 10 years from now, Miss Morgan will look through her album now & then and know that Mommy & Daddy (and Auntie Gigi!) love her very much!  <3

Think Pink!

So, I'm supposed to be up in the attic digging out the Halloween decorations.  

Or over at the storage unit, trying to un-earth some of my teaching supplies.

I'm supposed to be cleaning the house & doing laundry.  

I'm supposed to have help with all of the above.

But, somehow, I ended up with an un-planned day alone today.  

Hmmmm...  What to do with myself??

(Are you laughing yet?)

(Me too.)

I started off virtuous and cleaned the bathroom & started laundry, but that got old quick.

By about noon, I decided that this is a much better use of my time:

I got this idea from an advertisement that I saw the other day & am glad to have finally had a chance to put it together.  I have a friend that does the 3-Day walk here in Dallas every year that might be able to use a little encouragement.

It's Almost Time!!

How cool is that?  

Seriously!

It's cool outside!  

It was only in the 70's yesterday and mid-80's today.  

The Weather Man is saying that it's supposed to be mid 80's all week!

(Insert enormous cheer here!)

And we all know what that means don't we?

Time to hang Halloween decorations!

Hurray! 

I'm ready!

Ok, so I'm not really ready.  

I mean, I am, but all of the actual decorations are still in the attic. 

Which, of course, means that I need to recruit some help (hint, hint to Steve, if you're reading this!) to get them down.

Which means that I can't actually decorate until this weekend.

But in the meantime, I have some fun layouts from last Halloween.  

 LOVE!! these little 3-D ghosties from K & Co.  Probably used waaaaay too many of them, but they're so cute I don't care!

I hope to have the other 2 layouts from last Halloween done this week, but I can't make any promises.  

I did get the 1 Big Project done (photos to come this weekend!), but the Huge Project is still in progress and time is running short.  

I'll have to spend some time working on it if I'm going to get it done on time. (Photos to come if/when I get it finished)  

Not to mention the other 2 Big Projects that were requested.  

Oiy.  

Why did I think that getting a job was a good thing?
