Austin City Limits

So, today has really just been taunting me since I got out of bed.

I woke up thinking it was Saturday and that I got to sleep in this morning.

Not so much.

There were no construction vehicles around when I got to work this morning.
I was all excited, thinking they might finally be done.

Until an hour later when they started sandblasting the street.

It got all dark & rumbly outside.

But no rain.

I think The Universe is laughing at me today.

So, to take my mind off of all that, I decided to post fun pages from Austin City Limits 2009.

I've had THREE of these Rock Star stacks for a really long time but because of the large prints, I've had a hard time using them.

I decided that I was just going to power-through and find a way to make them work!

All in all, I'm really happy with the way they came out!
Supplies: PP: DCWV Rock Star Stack, Paper Lace: SEI, Flowers: Prima, Brad: Spare Parts, Other: Ribbon, Home-made shimmer mist in black

We spent the night before the concert at my cousin's home, since Austin is about 4 hours from where we live, but only a couple of miles from where they live.

I am very close with my cousin & his family, so it was a great opportunity for Steve to meet them & get to know them a little.
Supplies: Cardstock: DCWV Rock Star Stack, Chipboard Accents: DCWV Rockstar Kit, Brads: Spare Parts, Letter Tiles: Making Memories, Other: Stickles

I'm happy to report that they got along wonderfully.

The fact that we had bacon & beer for breakfast probably helped things along...

I literally have HUNDREDS of photos from this 1 1/2 day trip.
Way too many to scrap, but I wanted to include a bunch into the album, so I pulled out my old trick of adding divided page protectors.

Ok, so I'm not sure why there is an empty spot up there on the left.
There is a journaling card that goes in there.
Why it's not in the photo is anyone's guess....

For those who have never been, ACL is an entirely outdoor, weekend-long concert venue.

Several different bands are typically onstage at any given time & you can wander from stage to stage & take them all in.

Needless to say, wandering from stage to stage takes on a whole new meaning when you get there on Sunday & it's been raining for the past two days....

Hope you enjoyed the pages.

I'm of the Zumba!

Have a great night!

Country Side

Happy Friday Friends!

Is it just me, or do you wake up Friday morning feeling 10lbs. lighter because it's Friday?

Or, maybe, it's like I'm about to be let out on parole...

Either way, the day is always better!

I have a 1-page layout to share today.

It's one of my most favorite ones that I've made lately.

Supplies: Cardstock: Paper Studio, PP: Jenni Bowlin, Flowers: Prima, Journaling Spot: Making Memories,
Stamps: EK Success, Other: Viva Pearl Pen in Bronze

And because I'm on this "Gobs of pictures on the page" kick lately, I had to add a flap to get some extra photos in there.

The little yellow flowers are my favorite part of this layout.
I used a Viva Pearl Pen in Bronze for the centers, and I LOVE the look.
I would normally have used Stickles, but glitter just doesn't work for the feel of this page.
The Pearl Pen was perfect!

Remember when summer meant flowers in the fields, not gaping cracks in the earth due to drought?

Maybe next summer.....

This year, we'll just thumb our nose at Mother Nature & grow our flowers Inside!
